The Press model was created in 1987. Its style is inspired by the Streamline design movement, embodied by Raymond Loewy in the 40s. Although the word Streamline first appeared in the press as early as 1900, many avant-garde industrial designers used it because it expressed modernism. The wide chrome Press ring, adorned with circular lines, is characteristic of the Streamline style, resulting from an arbitrary use of forms borrowed from aerodynamic design.

It originated in post-war Western art, and more specifically in American visual art of the 60s and early 70s. Minimalism derives from one of the forms of modernism. It is often interpreted as a reaction against abstract expressionism, a kind of bridge to the post-minimalist movement.
