Description

Press

The Press model was born in 1987 and is inspired by the Streamline design school incarnated by Raymond Loewy in the 1940’s. The word “streamlined” first appeared in print around 1900 but many early industrial stylists were happy to adopt the word streamlining because it expressed modernism. The large chromed ring of the Baby Press showing circular lines is a Streamline signature, as a result of arbitrarily borrowing forms derived from aerodynamic design.

Scribe

Designed in 1990, the Scribe is inspired by the Minimalist approach to design, a style that uses pared-down elements, keeping design and function close. It began in Post– World War II Western art, most strongly with American visual art in the 1960s and early 1970s. Minimalism derives from the reductive aspects of Modernism and is often interpreted as a reaction against abstract expressionism and a bridge to post minimal art practices.

Shakin

The ergonomically designed Shakin’ was born in 2004. Ergonomic Design emerged in the late 1940’s focussing on the compatibility of objects and environments with the humans using them. It seeks to ensure that human restrictions and capabilities are met and supported by design options. So is the Shakin’: With its revolutionary Up&Down mechanism, the Shakin’ opens and closes with a smooth and natural wrist move, simplifying the use of a ball pen to the extreme.

Spoutnik

Designed in 1992, the Spoutnik is a tribute to the Atomic Age. Its design refers to the period from 1940- 1960, when concerns about nuclear war dominated Western society during the Cold War. Architecture, industrial design and fine arts were all influenced by the themes of atomic science, as well as the Space Age, which coincided with that period. Atomic Age design became popular and instantly recognizable, using atomic motifs and space age symbols.
